It is the greatest-hits version of the High Atlas.
The route typically climbs the Ourika Valley first, following the river past cafés and villages, then crosses toward Oukaïmeden for the high-mountain panorama before dropping into the gentler Asni valley and the Kik plateau on the way back. The contrast is the point: lush riverbank, bare high pasture and open farming country in one day.
