If you have one day to 'do' Marrakech, a guided city tour is the efficient way to see the headline sights without spending it lost or queueing. It pairs a licensed guide on foot with an air-conditioned car for the longer hops, stitching together the medina's monuments and the gardens and boulevards of the new town into a single, well-paced day.
The classic full-day route takes in the medina's showpiece monuments — the Bahia Palace with its painted cedar ceilings, the Saadian Tombs, the Koutoubia mosque and minaret from its gardens — and the souks, before crossing to the new city. There you visit a garden (the Menara olive basin or the cobalt-blue Jardin Majorelle) and get a feel for modern, French-built Gueliz with its cafés and boutiques.
A half-day version keeps to the medina highlights and one garden; the full day adds the palaces, more of the souks, a proper lunch and time to actually enjoy each stop rather than rush. Because a car handles the distances, you cover far more than you could on foot alone, without arriving hot and footsore.
