Start with your remaining energy and days. If you have one day out, keep it close: the Atlas foothills, Ourika or Agafay all deliver big scenery with a short drive, leaving you fresh for the evening back in the city. Save Ouzoud, Essaouira and Aït Ben Haddou for when you have a full, early-start day to give and don't mind hours in the car.

Then choose your format. Shared group tours are excellent value and sociable, but you are tied to the group's pace and its commission stops.
