Marrakech in Spring
Gardens in bloom, wildflower hikes and the last comfortable weeks before summer — spring is Marrakech's second golden season.
Spring (March to May) is the second-best season to visit Marrakech after autumn. Temperatures are comfortable (22-28°C), the city's gardens are in full bloom, and the Atlas Mountains are carpeted with wildflowers and fed by snowmelt streams.
April is the sweet spot — warm enough for everything, not yet hot, and the roses of the Dades Valley are at their peak. May starts getting warmer but is still manageable, especially with early-morning activities.

Common questions
Is March too early for Marrakech?
No — March is lovely. Temperatures are 22-25°C, gardens are starting to bloom and the city is less crowded than April. Evenings can still be cool (12-15°C).
Does it rain in spring?
March can have occasional rain. April and May are typically dry and sunny. Rain is rarely heavy or prolonged.
When is the Rose Festival?
Usually the second or third weekend of May in Kelaat M'Gouna, about 5 hours from Marrakech. It is a genuine local festival, not a tourist event.
Is May too hot?
Late May can hit 35°C, which some find uncomfortable. The strategy is the same as summer — mornings, evenings and pool breaks. October is more comfortable if you have a choice.
