Budget-Friendly Tours in Marrakech

Shared day trips, affordable activities and free experiences — Marrakech rewards travellers at every budget level.

Tours from 150 MAD (15 EUR)
Shared tours = lower cost
Same experiences, smarter price
Free things to do included

Marrakech is one of the most affordable destinations reachable from Europe. A satisfying day trip costs from 150-300 MAD (15-30 EUR), a filling lunch in the medina is 40-60 MAD, and many of the best experiences — the souks, the square, the gardens — are free or nearly free.

The trick is knowing which shared tours offer good value, where to eat like a local, and which paid activities are worth the money.

Common questions

How much money do I need per day in Marrakech?

A comfortable budget day costs 300-500 MAD (30-50 EUR): a shared day trip or two activities, lunch and dinner at local restaurants, and transport. You can go lower (200 MAD) if you focus on free activities and street food.

Are shared tours any good?

Yes. Shared tours use the same vehicles and visit the same places as private ones — you just share with other travellers. Groups are usually 6-15 people. It is the most affordable way to see the Atlas Mountains or Ouzoud.

What is free to do in Marrakech?

Walking the medina and souks, watching the sunset from a free rooftop cafe, exploring Jemaa el-Fnaa square, visiting the Koutoubia Mosque exterior, walking through the Menara Gardens (small entry fee), and browsing the tanneries.

Is haggling expected?

Yes, in the souks. A fair price is usually 40-60% of the first asking price. Start lower, be friendly, and walk away if the price does not come down. Fixed-price shops exist in Gueliz if you prefer.
