Is Marrakech safe at night?
The main tourist areas (Jemaa el-Fnaa, Gueliz, main medina streets) are safe until midnight. Avoid quiet, unlit alleys in the deep medina after 10pm. A guide or taxi is sensible for return trips to your riad.
What time does Jemaa el-Fnaa food market start?
The stalls set up around 5-6pm and are in full swing by 7pm. The busiest period is 8-10pm. Many stalls close around midnight.
Is there a bar scene in Marrakech?
Yes, but it is not a party city. Alcohol is available in licensed hotels, rooftop bars and some restaurants. There are a few clubs in Gueliz and Hivernage. The atmosphere is more sophisticated than nightclub-heavy.
Can I do a desert dinner on short notice?
Usually yes — most Agafay camps have same-day availability outside of peak season. In October-November, book 2-3 days ahead.
